At Golden Hare Gallery, we strive to promote highly skilled crafts-people who excel in their disciplines. We actively seek artists that are creating something different or who have inspiring designs and individuality.
I think you'll agree that Taisir Gibreel fits this bill perfectly. Taisir is based in Scotland, but has Sudanese heritage and spent her childhood in Sudan. Taisir's influences come from a mixture of her colourful childhood and the inspiring natural landscape of Scotland.
I first met Taisir at a show in London called Handmade in Britain. She was exhibiting alongside my mum, Jane White, who had got to know her really well over the 3 days. Taisir radiates warmth and vibrancy in her personality and is one of the nicest designers out there. I was thrilled when she wanted to sell her wonderful scarves in the gallery.
Its been fantastic to see Taisir achieve such success with her work, she totally deserves all the recognition and currently has her work stocked in The House of Bruar in Scotland; Johnstons of Elgin: Award winning Covet in Edinburgh; Wolf and Badger; and several department stores in Japan; galleries and independent retailers in the USA, and Germany.
